A true story about revolution

A true story about revolution. June 1994, RikFifaUriLeon and Jamie were celebrating with pizza after successful late night guerrilla busk on Oxford Circus. Full of zest and youthful optimism we were talking about how the world was changing for the positive and how we were going to make it happen with music, art and vegetarianism. The only other person in the pizza joint was a good looking older black guy in a nicely cut suit. He was in his 40s and was sitting at the bar eating his slice and turned on his seat to address us.

"You know I couldn't help overhearing your conversation."

He had an American accent.

"I think it's honourable that you hold high social and ecological principals and that you feel positive about the future. However, if you really want to affect positive and revolutionary change, you'll have to kill everyone like me, everyone my age and older..."

We were stunned.

With great Hollywood timing, and before we could say anything in response, an American soldier in full military dress comes in, walks up to the guy, snaps off a salute and says as crisply as you like "Sir, your transport is waiting."

Sir got up, smiled at us and left.
